NEXT GENERATION MEAT FILM

This film was developed due to the rising concern of DeHP, BHP, and DPH additives that specifically "soften" the PVC film. PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride) by nature is very rigid, however, the OTR (oxygen transmission rate) makes it the perfect material for the increase of shelf-life for meat and meat by-products.

These additives, called plasticizers, have been banned outright in Europe, Korea and Japan because of concerns of the harmful effects to reproductive systems in humans. The US EPA has delayed any decision on plasticizers because of intense lobbying from the industry. At the state level, California and New York are currently considering a comprehensive legislation ban preempting any Federal decision.

Developed as a patented palm oil alternative to plasticizers that is organic material and benign with human contact. This film is manufactured on state of the art extruders enabling customers to downgauge with no decreased levels of performance. In short this film has two advantages, reduction in volume and the elimination of known carcinogen.
